Hoping Cinderella waits until January 16th...

Sorry it has been so long since I have set down to write for Off The Paved Road. We are still waiting for the arrival of our baby girl. We call her Cinderella for fun and people around town are even picking up on it. Last Sunday at church the pastor prayed that Cinderella would stay in her mommy's tummy for just a bit longer. After hearing this part of the prayer Clancy (our three year old boy) poked me in the ribs and excitedly said "Dad, he prayed for my sister".

This whole ordeal has certainly been strenuous on the normal routine around the Rogers' household, but we are fortunate and very thankful for all of the family and friends for their help and prayers. We have been overrun with food and people lending a hand around the house. Most of the folks who bring food over prepare enough for an army so it feeds us for at least a couple of days. We did have a run of meals for several days in a row and we just flat ran out of Tupperware. We called up the Corwin family, who are our neighbors, and invited them over for a potluck except that they did not have to bring any food. It worked. By the end of the night we could see the back of the refrigerator again.

We are making progress and every day past is one day closer to the due date of January 16, 2002. By the end of this week Andrea should be off of her medication and off of bed rest as well. I again want to apologize for not keeping up, but do appreciate all of those out there that are thinking of us and for your patience.

What's Happening in Pinedale Real Estate Now
As for real estate, we are wrapping up another very big summer. Sales this season have again surprised us with some milestones being met. I had my biggest summer thus far in my career and we've seen our highest per acre sale of vacant land in the county at $95,000/acre on a river lot. The town of Pinedale has taken on a new look with the addition of a new Super 8 Motel, a new Sinclair gas station and convenience store, and a new movie theater/bowling alley. The latter two have yet to open for business but are definitely not far from completion. Pinedale continues to attract both the second home buyers as well as the family's looking for a slower pace of life. The transition of several of the small gas companies being gobbled up by larger companies such as Duke Energy and Shell Oil are continually spurring the economy in all of Sublette County.

Please feel free to e-mail me or give me a call if you or anyone you know might be interested in opportunities here in Pinedale or just wanting to spend some time in the area. I am happy to make myself available to show you around our little town and probably even a little bit of off the paved road.
